What is causing my Exp to feel like I am on a rumble strip?

I am hoping it is just a cupped tire because the noise seems to coincide with running on a low tire for a couple days. I have had bad luck with the tire sensors and just figured this was a false reading that would go away on a warmer day. But my pressure was down about 4 lbs on a tire.

Searching the web I found many rumble threads on various Fords but the diagnosis was usually related to carrier bearings, u joints, transmission fluid changes...

My first step will to get the tires rotated to see if that helps or moves the vibration to another location. After that, what would be my next step if the vibration comes from the same location?

Addl info. It is a 2008 Eddie Bauer with 156K miles.
