How can I enhace towing Performance 2009 150 ?
I have a 2009 F-150 5.4 3.7 2 wheel drive with max tow package. I pull a 7000 pound trailer and have a bit of a strain on long uphill grades. Want to pull trailer out West but think that I will have a problem in the Colorado mountains.
My question is: Will any of the performance enhancing products such as Bully Dog or Superchips, or cold air intakes, etc do anything to help my power and torque problems?
Thanks

I pull a similar weight trailer with my 5.4 4x4. While Im not gonna win any races, I have high confidence in the motor. Once she's spinning about 3500 or so, I haven't seen a hill she won't climb.
But I'm also considering talking to mike at 5star. More for the shifting than anything, though

The 5.4L with 3.73 gears will pull a 7000 lb. trailer thru the mountains of Colorado, but you will be in lower gears a lot. It won't win any races but it will do it. The main thing to watch is engine and transmission temps. When you get to the altitude of the Rockies the air is pretty thin. I would get aftermarket gauges installed as the factory gauges are not that accurate. A tuner will help, but it won't work miracles. You just have to be patient and not abuse the truck and you'll be fine.

Mike rocks, 5 Star for the win!!
But honestly, there's nothing wrong with PHP if you don't mind the 10 week wait for tunes to be emailed.
