Cool thanks James. I was able to identify mine as well to be of the six bolt variety. Well I guess I will go ahead and order a reman crank to install next weekend.

I pulled the motor this weekend and it was a total nightmare. That thing was a huge PITA to get out. Not looking forward to putting it back in.

Tried all of your tips but ran into some snags.

Can't get to top passenger bell housing bolt without removing manifold and even then I had to use a thin head 1/4" flex ratchet and wedge it between the hard lines that run against the firewall.

Couldn't get the wiring harness to come with the engine cause could not get to couple of plugs to disconnect up on top of the trans and could not get harness to clear the heat riser tube which was basically rusted connection to the manifold and would not budge and couldn't get access to get a wrench on it anyway.

AC compressor has studs. How and the heck could you ever get that off with the engine in the truck? I got it off by lifting the engine way up so it would drop down then pulled the front stud with a vice grip to the compressor to drop down.

Had to unhook lines from the power steering cause I couldn't get st the bolts to let it loose.

I am really dreading putting it back in.

EJ
