Mac's has them for $18.50, part#7HA-9590
MAC's Antique Auto Parts

You can also get them at any place that sells reproduction Ford parts. I have two local vendors that sell pretty much the same things as Mac's.

Any good local auto parts store like NAPA should be able to get one for you.

Look for a "wells" brand kit, I've heard those are some of the most complete kits available today. At NAPA, the NAPA kit for the Holley 1904/1960 is something like $34-37 or something, the Wells kit was like $39. From Michael Mayben, a Holley Guru, the Wells kits are simply the best available, but I have never actually bought a kit of theirs yet.

Just food for thought.

I bought mine from Mac's too - it was the best price I could find. The price range for the kits I came across was ~$19 - $50.

I didn't notice a big difference between kits in terms of parts included.

What does the venerated Holley man think of GP Sorensen parts?
I only ask my '48 226 quit on me mysteriously so I tore into the (6v wrecked) electrical - I suspect the 10% ethanol corroded up everything (later confirmed when I tore into things) and I checked local parts houses - advanced auto parts was the only local that I found (checked oreily/autozone/advanced auto)...
Buy GP Sorensen Carburetor Kit 96-101 at Advance Auto Parts

Personally, I think they are fine just as long as the rest of the carb is already fine, but I haven't used a wells kit before. It was just his advice/wisdom.

Next carb rebuild in a 10k miles or so I'll be getting a wells kit to see what it's all about. I've used one sorensen and 3 NAPA kits, so I'm somewhat familiar with these kits and how well they are stacked. Both kits have gone downhill, previous metal parts(like the economizer/power valve) are now plastic...

However, the fuel bowl gaskets in the NAPA kits used to be paper and leak no matter what, are now very good cork/viton type material that don't leak. Not sure about the sorensen.

Yeah, all of the rebuild kits I found were basically gasket kits with a few metal parts and clips thrown in. None of them had an economizer piston or power valve.

CA resident:

Engler Brothers Auto Parts on Pico Blvd. in Santa Monica, the best damn autoparts store anywhere for older vehicles / North Hollywood Carburetor & Ignition, located on Lankershim Blvd / Sacramento Vintage Ford.

C&G Ford Parts located in Escondido / Early Ford Store located in San Dimas / The Truck & Car Shop located in Orange / John's F Fun100's located in Corona. There's prolly more, but these I'm familiar with.

The old car hobby began here, and CA has more sources for 'old rolling piles of misery' parts than all the other states combined, so there is no need to go to Lockport NY (Mac's) to buy a carb kit.
