I'm watching pre-doc and post-dpf.

Edge device = Ford sensors (picture)

EGT1 = EGT11 (pre DOC)
EGT2 = EGT12
EGT3 = EGT13
EGT4 = EGT14 (post DPF)

kper05,
Thanks for the info on the EGRs. Was gone this weekend at brother-in-law's funeral so this is the first chance to reply. So how many degrees do you add to the EGR 1 reading to get a more accurate EGR temp?

I don't even have an educated guess for that question.
Painted Horse has mentioned he would rather not see 1,200 on EGT11 but I don't know what the computer is programmed as a high temp limit before defueling.
For oil temp Ford CS has said near 260 is considered excessive.

Edge posted they released the 2011 firmware (not sure what date).

I have the Insight CTS (had it on my '10, and they just released the software updates for the '11), and had a few observations while towing home from Bristol to MD on 81. EGTs are around 800 and Oil temp around 200. When regen kicks in, EGTs go to 1200-1300 and oil tem goes to 220. Seems like alot of stress on the system. Regen kicked in twice in 7 hours of driving. I like the R message on the CTS letting you know its full duration.

Was that EGT11 (pre doc) or EGT14 (post dpf)?

kper05 does your model have tune capabilities? If so are you concerned Ford would say you tuned the motor causing problems? Or is it available without tuning programed in?

It's a monitoring only device.
A tuning module isn't getting near my truck anytime soon, if at all.
This device only receives information from the truck computer modules.

I have not researched the tuning parts of this but my understanding is you buy additional modules that will then communicate to the Edge (maybe with different firmware?) to allow you to change your power levels which will void the warranty but that's only a guess on how that process works.

I feel the same way about the tuner. I just don't see the need. Thanks for the info.

It was the EGT 12.

KPER05. I agree, no tuning is needed, the Insight means as the name implies, it gives you insight to the various parameters. I would never tune and risk the warranty on a 10k+ engine.
