Nothing wrong with their numbers. Way back when Gene suggested my numbers were too consistent and suggested they were taking my money and faking the results. I had another lab to the next test and they came back similar. To me it just seems like they tried to blow a little too much smoke up my back side in the comments section. Nothing wrong with their report though and I will use them again. The report with numbers is attached above.

I'm running my first round of synthetic in my motor. Shell Rotella T6. Coming up on 5k miles on it and I'll have it tested. There will be some left over dino oil in there from the HPOP reservoir, but not too much.

Nothing but motorcraft filters for me.

In the summer I just tend to run what ever may be on sale, as long as it's Delo, Rotella, or Delvac; I usually find one of them at a cheaper price than the other two when my oil changes come around. I try and do 4k intervals as I live in a "moisture-rich" environment, Motorcraft or Donaldson filters. I have run the T6 before in winter, even though it usually only dips into the 20's and 30's up here, I figure it can't hurt that time of year althought 15w40 has never given me problems in the winter down to single digits.

I may try Delo synthetic this winter if it's still the same price as T6 at my local O'rielly's, just to say I did it lol.

Shaeffers 5w-40 full synthetic, excellent oil. And believe it or not, the exact same oil I put in the wifes mercedes! Meets both manufactures specifications and the merc calls for 5w-40.

Too bad he doesn't come around anymore. He kept things interesting, entertaining, and the threads got technical enough to be informative and gave everyone a chance to pick up bits and pieces of info, as well as think through things with all the discussion. I think they also might have helped get the blood pressure up of a few members

And thanks for sticking a song in my head right before bed time

The best was from Jimmy Elledge in 1961.

Floyd Kramer and Chet Atkins also on that recording.

A real classic from the pen of Willie Nelson.

I run Rotella T5 10w30 and Napa filter. 125K and no oil leaks. but I have not done an oil change since I changed from Delo 400 to Rotella so I am interested to see how it works out.

The reason I am trying the 10w-30 is that I have seen awesome UOA posted using rotella or JD 10w-30 in the 6.0 forums. Oil tends to stay in grade a little better than a 40 weight. Also since this oil change will most likely take me into the fall and cooler weather so it will help on start up. I also like the possibility of slightly higher MPG.
