1953 Ford rear suspension ?

I was wondering if removing a couple of leaf springs will help the stiff ride, Has anyone tried this ?????

Removing a couple springs can soften up the ride and lower your truck slightly. Before I switched to the No Limit 4-Link I had done this and also swapped the 53-55 leafs for the 56 leafs. They are slightly longer. New bushings will help a lot as well. But in the end they are old leaf spring trucks. They are gonna be a little stiffer.
