97 f350 front axle c-clips

Hi guys, Does the pinion have to be removed in order to get the c-clips out to pull the axle?

No c clips in the ft axle, remove the hub, rotor, and spindle then they slide right out.

I tried that, but it sure feels like there are c-clips holding the axle shaft in. This is a dana 60 and I thought they had c-clips?

Thanks for the reply

No c-clips on a Dana 60. The seals may be dragging a lilttle, just pull harder

One more question. What are the torque specs for the upper and lower ball joints. I know there is a sequence, bottom first then top, then bottom again. But I cant remember the torque specs for them. I tried searching, but all I came up with was for the TTB axle. I thought the f350's had a different spec. Appreciate the help.

the Dana 50 and Dana 60 both use the same BJs. I make them as tight as I can make them with a 1/2" breaker bar
