Excursion Build

Hey guys I've been lurking for a while but I decided to modify my excursion.

Right now I'm waiting for parts to come in but the excursion as its is a 2001 Limited 7.3 4X4 with a new built 4R100.

I'm gonna build this thing myself and I ordered some parts so when they show up next week or so I'll get going on it.

Here's what I'm waiting for:

Rough Country 5" lift
Dual Bilstein Steering Stabilizers from Rough Country
6 Bilstein 5100s including a dual shock bracket up front
Yukon Gears 4.11s front and back
4 Raceline Wheels Renegade 8's in 17x9" Polished
4 General Grabber Red Es in 35x12.50R17
Xentec HID conversions for headlights/fog lights
N-Fab Prerunner Bar
2005 Power/Heated/Turn Signal/Corner Lamp Dual Arm Tow Mirrors

That's about it. Im going to have the gears installed by azdifferential here in Phoenix and I'll have the tires mounted and balanced by Discount and I'll have it alligned at a local shop but everything else I will be installing

I'm going to try to take lots of pics and keep the story updated so everyone knows how it goes together.

Can anyone tell me how to upload pics?

how do you post pics?

oh and I forgot to mention I bought it second hand and it was comletly stock except for the monitors in the headrests.

Since then I installed a 4" MBRP turbo back including 4" downpipe, 4" intake w/AFE Pro 7 filter, Wicked Wheel and ATS Revolution chip. It runs much much better and gets about the same MPG too, maybe a tad better.

woo can't wait to see, what color is your X?...on the pics you can create a photobucket account if you don't already have one, and upload them to there and then copy/paste the url of the picture in these message boxes when posting a comment

I'll definitely like to know how you like the GT grabbers....I'm personally lookin into putting those 35's on some Method 18x9" wheels. At first I liked the Raceline Monster in black but with the beadlocks only being able to run up to 35 psi they wouldn't be enough

sounds like fun. See below for adding pictures. I'm interested to see your before and after pics.

you can upload pictures here, but it quite frankly a major pain in the @ss. They have to be a certain size, under a maximum MB...and then sorting through them and getting the codes is annoying. And then they stamp each picture with a FTE. Not that bad, but sometimes it covers parts of the picture.

Photobucket is your best bet. You can quickly upload your photo, click the link that looks like below

{img]http://.....[/img]

it auto copies, and then you can paste it into the text area.

easy, no fuss, no muss

Nice build. X2 on photobucket, its really easy. Just open it in another window and go back and forth copy an pasting.

You didnt mention gauges. That is mandatory for chip. At least EGT's, trans temp and boost, but fuel pressure is a good idea too. One of those could be an Aeroforce Scangauge which also allows you to do 'on board' diagnostics likely saving you from trips to dealer/mechanic (with help from your friends at FTE). Call Clay at Riffraff for all your stuff, he has the best customer service and prices.

Also, that ATS chip thingy is a turd. If ya really wanna wake that thing up, get a TS chip and have BTS, Tyrant, Gearhead, Swamps, Wildman, etc write ya some tunes!!!

Lookin forward to seeing this come together for you!!

The 7.3L doesn't have a cat, but the 6.0L does.
