Question about my Ford F100 "Servis" truck 1960

Good afternoon fellow Ford enthusiasts!

I have recently bought a Ford F100 fleetside, 1960.

Iīve tried to search some info about it on the net but canīt find info about mine. The bed has tool compartments alongside of it and inīthe back it has the name "SERVIS" stamped into the sheet metal. What did they call this kind of bed/truck?

Sorry for my bad english but I hope you`ll understand me anyhow...

Rainy but warm regards from the southern part of Sweden...

// Patrick

I have always heard them called service truck and utility bed.
I don't know if they had an official name.
I'm sure diffferent manufacturers had different names for the beds.
They were used for a lot of different things.
Maybe someone here has some literature from the period that will help.

Welcome to Sweden, from the sunny USA!

Patrick, your english is just fine, and better than some locals here. Welcome to the forum. As said previously, your truck has what is known as a service bed. It's also been called a utility bed, but the service name is more common. There are, and have been, several manufacturers of service beds, and "Servis" is one of them. That may have been where the name originated from, but I really don't know that, for sure. We'd love to see some photos if you have some to share.
