Will Nano Layer Graphene Be The Next Wonder Lube????

All kinds of research is being funded with our Tax dollars & its looking like Nano Layer Graphene may be the next wonder lube/friction fighter/wear reduction additive. According to Argonne Labs, its better than Moly & Boron!!!!
Graphene layers dramatically reduce wear and friction on sliding steel surfaces | Argonne National Laboratory

Maybe look for it in an oil bottle, or grease tube in our near future!!!!????? We may soon find things like graphene coated pistons & other moving parts in current engines, maybe even pistons made of it in the future!!!!

Yup, it already has, (http://www.transportation.anl.gov/pdfs/MM/857.PDF) with the nano particle size Boron & Moly in the newer oil recipes, the finer particle sizes have reaped new benefits & as research progresses on newer materials like graphene & others , we'll see some fantastic lube products emerge fairly soon.
All kinds of research going on with coatings too, so that along with the nano lubes, will be interesting to watch.

Nano Layer Graphene

There are some far east companies riffing off the "nano technology" aspect with ceramic oil additives. Claim to bond onto metal surfaces and reduce friction.

It is shame the US taxpayer has to foot the bill for the research when the oil companies have more than enough money in their R&D budgets to do it themselves.
