See post 21 , why did you put the stage 2 kit in if you didn't want it to shift fast and hard ??

I put a stage 2 kit in my old mustang and loved OT but it didn't shift any where near as hard as the truck did with stage 2.

So I swapped to the springs that the kit says to use for the stage 1 today an I don't really notice a difference. The shift from 1st-2nd is still just as hard but the rest seem to have calmed down

I have installed them before but in a C4 not an e4od. There is definatly a bigger difference in the e4od then the c4

Just a tech question for you. What comes in the kit? Valve body? Plates? Springs ? Is there other options for the stage 1 side other then the springs? These posts are making me lean towards getting the jet system over the internal mods.

The kit comes with new springs for in the valve body and a drill bit to slightly enlarge 2 of the holes in the original plate. There is a spacer to install in the valve body as well.

For any E4OD.

Yes first recommendation on the NLOC forums for Lightnings.

Paul will custom make them for your application. He sells Street or Comp valvebodies.

im subscribing to this too. ive been thinking about one and was trying to decide between the stage 1 and stage 2.

also what happens when you use the improver kit along with the switch that b and m sells as well? (the older $30 switch, not the new $180 one)

i dont always hot rod my truck (actually i hardly ever do) so will the stage 2 still shift at the normal shift points? i dont want it redlining everytime before it shifts...

I didnt find much difference between the stage 1 and stage 1 the shift points font hi to a redline. The farther you have your foot the higher the shift point. A little higher then stock but not much. But when It shifts hang on its a hard shift.... I mean chirp the tires hard shift. I thought my tranny blew up st first .

The kit comes with a resistor and connectors to tap into the harness that increases the pressure in the tranny. Id imagine that the electronic kit is just a way to switch between a couple different resistors at your fingertips. I know I removed the resistor and didn't notice much change. So i put it back in.
I'm beginning to wonder if I don't have issues here since I didn't notice a difference between stage 1 and stage 2 and with/ without the resistor... I know one of the original springs that was replaced in the kit was broken.. But it still seemed to shift fine before. I'll try n get a video of it shifting. Through the first couple gears if it shows how hard it is shifting
