33s and a wider stance.. suggestions??
ultimately i want to lift my truck (06 f150 5.4) but i dont want to spend 2 grand on the kit a lone. im thinking for the mean time i want to run 33s and widen the stance of the truck. just give it a beefy-er look. any suggestions on:
- body lift or leveling kit to fit the tires??
- what width tires??
- are backspacers the best way to widen stance??
I dont want to level the truck but if its the best way to do this then i have no choice. any help would be appreciated
thanks

Leveling kit at 2" would be the most cost effective. This will pick the front end up just a little, and still leave you with just a hint of forward rake.
Are you going to keep your stock wheels? If yes, and they're 18"s, then a 295 or 305 is the widest you'll want to go. With a 2" level you can fit up to a Metric sized 35" tire.
Spacers are scarey if not done right. GOOD spacers are at least $600. You'd be better off trying to get an aftermarket wheel/tire combo from Ebay for $1300-$1800 for the whole shabang.

I agree with MCDavis. I went with the 2" AS levelling kit and 33" tires. I did not add spacers or wider tires; used stock 275 width. Depending on your mileage, you may want to consider replacing the struts with Bilstein 5100 Adjustable ride height instead of spending $$ on the levelling kit. Considered alone, the levelling kit is cheapest, but if you could benefit from a strut change, I vote for the latter. That is where I am; about to purchase Bilsteins and delete the levelling kit. I have 107k miles; no flagrant problems, but believe I would benefit from the replacement.

I went with a 2.5" Rough Country level, 33" toyo M/Ts and 20x9 Monsters. It leveled out the truck perfectly and the truck looks great. The tires stick out a little further than stock (maybe an inch or so) which is fine for me, but if your looking for something that stick much farther out your going to need spacers. However, if you go with an aftermarket wheel most of them will have two different offsets. One will be more stock like I have and the other will stick farther out. I have an 18m offset, but there was an option for a 35mm one as well. Here are some pictures:

I have a 3" front leveling kit with a rear add a leaf in the back. I currently have 33/12.50/17 tires on my truck. They seem kinda small now that I did this. I bought the tires and rims before I did the leveling kit and add a leaf. I wish I would have bought 35/12.50/17 luckily they are almost bald now so I can do that. In the winter I put my stock rims on with 35/12.50/18 Nitto Terra Grapplers and it looks really good with that. I always get compliments on how much truck sits. They say its not to high but not to low.
