Darn! that's the right combo! "4x4 351 w/ 5 speed tranny" great find, i hope you enjoy it for many years. Now give that truck some love and polish it (including the headlights!).

Thanks for letting me know. I need new tires before winter, but I want something highway friendly but with a lot of grip. Those look like just the tire for what I need

Damn that's a bad-A truck you just got Duct Tape, all the trucks like that around here are high dollar, like 6 to 7k, just because it's 4x4. I would love to be in the driver's seat of that beast.

Enjoy!

I blame the parents though...I mean WOW....Buy a KID a $40k truck JUST TO DRIVE AROUND TOWN.....Just amazes me....
Yea I definitely hate those kids at my high school, driving around the F250's and F350's brand spankin' new JUST TO AND FROM SCHOOL, and occasionally the beach. Shoot, there's even this kid who drives his dad's F450, TO AND FROM SCHOOL. Bunch of scrubs if you ask me.

And that's cuz I use my truck for everything, wether I like it or not, but those kids, man they don't enough know how to tow or anything, and man I tell you they freak out without their Shift On The Fly 4x4, like they never heard of Manual Hubs.

Sorry for the long post, just can't stand kids like that at my school.

If your '97 was a piece of **** and had a bunch of problems when you sold it, it wasn't b/c you put injectors, a chip, and all that stuff on it. I've been messing with these things for a good little while.. Just b/c you add some power, doesn't mean the truck goes to ****. Just sayin' LOL

Looks like you got a nice truck. I'm sure it runs extremely good since your used to puttin' around in that '94 with a 300 in it. LOL

i was thinking 7.3 but honestly, i dont need another diesel. This 351 has more than enough power for what i want. its like brand new man, i cant stress it enough. Amazing truck! ESPECIALLY after drivin that turd 300 around for 5 years.

as far as upgrades, i might get a lveling kit....if i could find a good one. But i dont wanna start tearin it apart like every other ford ive owned. Leave that to the toys and leave the DD alone!

NO MUDDING though! NONE! i have a mud truck for that and i dont even want to begin trashing this truck because of the redneck in my blood

BTW, the wheels are polished aluminum and he didnt take great care of them, just kinda washed them so they have alot of stuck-on brake dust. Does anyone have any effective methods to make these babies shine like new?

Also- i'll get better pics tomarow, the ones posted up do NO justice, they make the truck look like crap.

Find a good cleaner for whatever alloy the wheels are and polish the hech out of them. If that isn't enough, you might need to use a very fine grit paper on them.

Try out Eagle One Mag Wheel cleaner. That's the ONLY cleaner that would get my wheels clean.

Honestly, only one of the wheels is bad, the others would look perfect if i polished them up. But the one is pretty bad. just caked on brake dust ll over it.

I washed the truck today and it shines like a ****! im just disappointed because the wheels didnt come out like i had wished. They look amazing from like 10 ft away but if you get eye level with them, its just like a smokey black residue GRRRRRR its so stubborn

My front wheels were BLACK with BD when I first got the truck....Used Mothers' Mag Polish and those sponges with the green scrubber thingy on it...Took me about 5 hrs of hard scrubbing, but they came clean...

Have to watch the aluminum wheels, they have a clear coat, that once its penetrated, it'll oxidize and look all fugly....

hence my scrubbers....Nylon bristles were stiff, but wouldn't rip scratches into that clearcoat...

I use Bar Keeper's Friend. It's about $2 (WalMart) and this thing works wonders on my bumpers and rims. It keeps them alll SOOOOOOOOOOO shiny! Don't bash it until you try it, also read the link.

Here's proof, look at the bumper and my rims, love it!

Ha here's a link.

Also I second on using one of those dishwashing sponges with the rough and soft side.
