Help.....I feel so special right now

Hello folks,

So I wanted to change out my fuel filter on my 88 F250 with a 351 today.
You think i can find the filter. Nope.
I searched all along the frame rail. I encoutered the tank selector and the high pressure pump.... followed that all the way into the fuel rail.
No filter.....WTF
Any clues as to why Im blind?

Also I'm trying to also figure why, after doing plugs, wire, cap & rotor, I now have a miss. Its not major, seems like just 1 cylinder, but yet at WOT it stumbles and bucks so bad, I want to **** myself

Im not going to bother asking for tips to replace the O2 sensor, Im just going to get a new bung welded onto 1 of the pipes, rather than where they merge into the cat.
Is that a bad idea though?

Thanks for the help guys and gals.
I hope to, one day, be almost as knowledgeable as some of you

on the cross member (i think) where the hood latch is (i have a 95 so im not sure if the 80's are a bit different location wise but i think not) a sticker that should give you the firing order of the plugs so you can use that to hook up the wires to your plugs/distributer cap...did you follow it?

I copied the same wires from the old cap....then double checked with Fords
1-3-7-2-6-5-4-8

And then I thought I messed up with where I started #1 so I rotated all the wires over one so #1 was the pointed towards the steering wheel...motor locked up,
So rotated back so #1 was straight back...she fires, slight miss...but running

Not how they are on the cap, how the wires pass over each other.. it MATTERS!

x2^^^ the routing and overlap of the wires are really important to prevent cross fire and misses. Also make sure the wires are tight on the plugs.

Check the wire that runs closest to the oil dipstick tube. Mine gave me such fits that I slipped a thick piece of rubber tubing over the tube to avoid problems.
