Bump stops

I know I have seen a post on here before about bump stops. All of mine are pretty much shot. Where is the cheapest place to replace all of them?

You will need to get your truck off the bumpstops with new springs before you replace them.....otherwise they will just get destroyed.....do a search on V and B codes

I don't really have the money for new springs right now. I would rather just get some stops right now.

Then why replace the stops?

I'm not knockin' ya for not being able to do a suspension upgrade, not at all, I guess I'm just confused and wondering why you'd wanna replace the stops when they'll just get demolished again over time.

How much are we talking for new springs and don't I need the stops on the rear piece that extends out to help with axle warp?

Depends where u get them from. My dealer gives me 15% off and the total is about a grand new. U can find used at junk yards but u will need new u bolts.

The bump stops that I think you are refering to are on your rear over load leaf spring. If so, they are about $30 each from ford. Easy 1 bolt replacement. They will only help (very little at best) when the Ex is taking off.

Yes, I am referring to the overload springs. I just don't want to tear something up because they are not on there!

I don't have a grand right now to replace the springs. I have a baby on the way so funds are tight right now and will be for a few months.

You shouldn't tear anything up, as long as the base of the old bushing is still on. (bolt not exposed) on top side.

I drove about 60,000 miles without them, and just recently installed new.

Congrats on baby on the way! Sorry about the empty bank account!

If I went to the junk yard to get the springs, what year Ford should I look for to get the right code? I have read alot of guys replacing the springs. What is so bad with the factory springs on the Excursions to prompt the replacement?

Yours are, but his aren't, so it stands to reason his replacements would probably end up the same way.

Ok, so according to one those threads that I read, why are the 4x4 F250 springs different from what the Excursions have? I guess I'm confused since the excursion is a F250 with a enclosed back on it right? Sorry if that is a dumb question but I haven't had my EX long and I am still learning all of this.
