SD to MAF swap questions

I have a 93 F150 with a 5.0 and E4OD that I am converting to MAF. I bought a F5TF-12A650-JB ecu out of a 95.
  1. Will my transmission solenoid pack work with this computer or do I need to change that to a 95 and up pack?
  2. If it will work would there be any benefit to changing the solenoid pack out anyways?
Trans is on the stand anyways right now because of a sprag failure, so it wouldn't be a big deal.

Ford did move the Solenoid Pack protection diodes to the PCM around 1995. By using an older Solenoid Pack you will have 2 sets of diodes. Some have noted they had no issues, others had some problem that may or not be related to the double set of diodes. Having a double set is better than not having any at all.

Paul from Paul's Clutchboxes, aka thePUNISHER, has chimed in on this subject before. Long story short he has not had any issues running either packs , but to be safe use the appropriate Solenoid Pack for the PCM you have.

He is the Master when it comes to E4OD transmissions, If you want a nice piece of hardware, purchase a Solenoid Pack from him.
