Any Flareside truck cap ideas (cheap?)

I have a 95 as you can see and for camping and weather protection Im looking for a cheap solution...

Someone was giving away a cap across the street and i carried across and trial-fitted it, a little off, mustve been for a Ranger.

Anyway, caps for these are pretty rare. I was wondering if downsize caps might fit like one for a Dakota or maybe a Toyota?

Other idea is a canvas and round-bar deal like an old troop carrier but thats beyond the time I have, I have the talent I think... just not the time with house/kids/school/work/wife/girlfriend ;^)

Any ideas guys?

you could measure the trucks you think are close, but good luck finding something cheap unless like you said, you can make it yourself. I have thought about contacting the softtopper.com and seeing how much they would charge for a custom top for my flareside, but the normal ones are around $600,i am sure custom would add more to that price.

that looks good and if you could do it yourself, would be cheaper then having one custom made.

i like that idea. another idea would be to use wood? one of my projects for my truck is probably going to build a wooden tonneau cover. go to google and type in wooden tonneau cover or diy tonneay cover and see hwo many threads their are with guys doing it. theirs a bunch.

on the off topic. cjben would you mind posting a pic of your truck? ive got a ext cab flareside too and love to see how they look lifted with bigger tires.

Yeah I have a 92 Flareside 4x4, and I have been looking for a Topper for quite some time. Leer, A.R.E. and everyone has discontinued them. They say you have to luck up at the topperplaces and find a good used one. Let me know if anyone knows where one is. Thanks
