I messed up and drove an eco-boost!!
Now I want one, problem is my truck I have now is only 8 mos. old and it would cost me about 7k to trade. My truck now is a Ram 1500 Big Horn crew with Hemi chrome 20's,tow package,Rambox, plus all the other stuff that comes with it. sticker was 38.8k not including bed cover and running boards. The truck I'm looking at is an FX2 that stickers for about the same amount. So I definitely gotta think about this one.

DO IT! DO IT! Come over to the good side, my friend ;-)
I realize the financial aspect of it, so it really depends on if you are going to make your money back on it. I think the resell on the Ecoboost is probably going to be higher. If you youtube the Ecoboost, you can see outpull a hemi up a hill but over a minute. Pretty outstanding.
You might do better off selling your hemi privately. I finally quit making the mistake of trading in and on my current ride, they offered me 3k on my 03 Explorer (55k miles) and I sold it privately for 8k. I'm sure you can find some sucker to take that dodge off your hands ;-)
I wish you the best!!

rodolan, Ithink that NotMyHusbandsF150 is correct. Selling the truck yourself would probably be the way to go. Of course if you just financed a bunch of negative equity into your deal on the Dodge then this may be hard to do. Of course selling your existing vehicle is actually the way that almost everyone should go. For most people this is worth $2K to $3K.

Lay down until the feeling passes. It's tough for people to buy near new vehicles privately because of the financing difficulty. You've got a nice ride, so enjoy it.
The EB and transmission issues are bound to be around a bit longer while Ford works out new "gremlins". Nothing major, but could be an annoyance.
I drove the EB too and caught the "I gotta have it" fever as well. But, my 2010 has been perfect and I'm going to get my $$ worth out of it before I change vehicles.

you first messed up bad by buyin the hemi. your second problem is wanting to replace it with something that's not much better. . . . . .
seriously, if that ford gasser is REALLY what you want, keep your hemi clean and give it a lil time for the used market to catch up to the new trucks. then just sell/trade yours for a used one. minimal damage to your wallet, and you get what you want.

I agree with the buy used from the PP. We have a '10, we bought it, it was only 4 months old. (Well, it had only been licensed in Dec. '10 and we bought it in April '11) - yes, there is a little joy in being the first to drive something but we saved a lot of $$$ and that comes #1 in my book

The most I'm finding right now is 8k off either eco or 5.0 doesn't matter. Where's the extra 3k off eco-boost coming from?
