Is there a performance chip ( better mpg mainly) for 07 Nav?
Got a 07 Nav, besides being a piece of S@#T , it gets terrible gas mileage. Do they make a performance chip to give it more MPG ? i know there are CLAIMS out there , but looking for someone who actually has a chip installed. Pro's and con's as well. THANKS

how is it a POS?
as far as chips...NO. All that bullcrap on eBay is a simple resistor that can damage your motor.
You can grab a SCT #3000 handheld tuner and use that. It requires custom tunes. Call up VMP Tuning, Troyer or go to a local place. Tunes run about $75 each and they can really wake up your vehicle. I'd suggest a simple 87 octane economy tune.

VMP Tuning - Buy Ford SCT & GM Custom Handheld Flash Tuners Performance Economy Towing: Custom Tuned SCT X3 Flash Tuner for Ford Vehicle from VMP
just a few links. Custom tuning will make your Navi/Expy a whole different beast. I picked up just 30 RWHP from my tuning alone...and the other modifications I've made netted me nearly 60 RWHP (cumulative effect).
Another good way to get better mileage is a simple tune-up. Plugs, oil change, rotate/inflate tires and change the fuel filter. You can pick up 1-2 MPG if they've been neglected.
Going with a SCT tuner will run you about $400 roughly. It's some of the best money I've spent on my Mustang. I haven't done it for the Expy yet because the wife won't let me play with it just yet. Once I get her permission, I'm getting it custom tuned for 89 octane gas, 4.30 rear gears, True-trac and a cold air intake. It's pretty good out of the box, but I'm always looking for a little more

Yea not sure how you think it's a POS. Just a food for thought.... if you spend $400 to save 1-2mpg ... how long will it take you to earn that money back to start saving money overall? It's a heavy luxury truck.... not gonna give you great mileage period. In my L i'm getting 15mpg in city and 18hwy pretty consistently.... personally pretty happy with that result.

Guys, just throwing this out there. Does the SCT allow for transmission changes? I know that the Edge products were not addressing the 6spd tranny in the F150, so I didn't know if the same carried over to the Expy. Just food for thought.
I love the SCT X3 that Mike Butler at 5 Star custom tuned for my F150. He would be another resource to check out for tunes.

Trust me I'm all about performance as well...but are you telling me there is 30rwhp to be had just on a tune alone? I'd be willing to be that is not the case... have any before or after dyno graphs to show the power gains? Pretty sure '11 5.0 guys aren't even getting that on just a tune unless it's combined with a CAI and other mods. What other mods are you doing to get the additional 30rwhp? I'm not saying power gains aren't to be had with a tuner...I'm just skeptical it's 30rwhp for just the tune and that there is that much bottled up restriction elsewhere that another 30rwhp is waiting to be unlocked. If that's the case....there is a whole board of guys here that would love to get an extra 60rwhp out of their 5.4L 3v's.....

When i said the +30 HP gain, I wasn't specific. My car came with a FRPP CAI and some pathetic FRPP tunes. So my car had a better baseline to start with. Also, I have a stick and am seeing way less parasitic losses than the auto transmission our Expy has. The auto averages 80-100 HP loss. My 2006 F-150 that I had Supercharged had 415 flywheel HP...but by the time it got to the wheels I was lucky to see 300 wheel HP on a cool day
as far as mods, I am currently running a very very aggressive 93 octane tune, Longtubes, offroad H pipes, no mufflers, the FRPP CAI, and Underdrive pullies. I have traction "issues" until 3rd gear
For reference, the 2009 5.4 3v is the exact same motor in all respects as the 2004-2008 models. And yet Ford was able to scare up an extra 20 HP...all they did was change the tuning when you run E-85. If they can do that with a "SAFE" tune that doesn't hurt reliability, think what can be done if you slap a CAI on there and get some professional tweaking

I'll let dyno runs tell the story and everyone I've seen for 5.0L's with just a CAI and tune net around 30rwhp...which is 100% impressive but far from the 50-60rwhp you refer to...unless you not referring to rwhp.
The 5.4L IMO won't see the 10-15rwhp with just a tune and CAI... There isn't that much power in hiding. As it is, the truck can't use all the air the stock tubing is feeding it. It's easier to look at parasitic losses as a percentage then a rough number.
Manuals: 12-15%
Auto: 30-33%
So the rwhp numbers from your Harley is pretty spot on to what it was supposed to be. Depending on what kind of blower you had... could have had some fun low end torque!
Your bullitt is a nice looking car and always been partial to that shade of green... any dyno sheets on that? Sickens me that my blown 01 makes 381rwhp with LT's, x-pipe, catback, C&L plenum, and 8lbs from a vortech and '11's are making about that stock. Only saving grace I got is my car weighs in a 3300lbs (aftermarket k-member and a-arms, coilovers, bbk wheels). Cause I don't get much a chance anymore to show it off (and just spent the weekend detailing it:
Little bit back on topic though... Not terribly sure how the Navi is a POS. Although I'm not sure I would have paid the full retail price for mine, it is on par with the likes of it's competitors in terms of fit/finish/quality. Least for my year straight from JD:

The 2008 Lincoln Navigator reliability score of 10.0 out of 10 is the Predicted Reliability rating provided by J.D. Power and Associates. This score is based on trending the past three years of historical initial quality and dependability data from J.D. Power's automotive studies, specifically the Vehicle Dependability Study (VDS) and the Initial Quality Study (IQS).
Not bad for a POS domestic IMO

FYI, the PCM on the F-150/Expedition doesn't have the ability to utilize anything besides 87 octane. You are effectively wasting your money if you run anything else.
Only the 09+ vehicles (Mustang, and a few of the other cars) have dual fuel strategies that can adapt and utilize to the higher octane. The FFV Expy has a dual fuel map, but that only senses the Methanol content and switches between the 87 octane, or E-85 strategy.
Run whatever floats your boat, but I personally would stick to 87 octane. My Expy can pull 20-21 mpg highway on the cheap stuff.
