I just looked, and autozone's site has a good detailed procedure for your truck. Go to their site and register. Then plug in your truck. Then click on "repair info", then "vehicle repair guides" and then "chassis electrical". Then "switches ???(I forget what else) and then finally "multi-function combination switch".

I found the electronic flasher! It was not in any of the descriptions that I read anywhere in any forum on the internet, and certainly not in my manuals! But, I found it, and replaced it! Nope, that didn't fix it, but it did tell me that I'm probably on the right track with the multifunction switch replacement. It does a slow ding every 45 seconds or so, so I guess that the M/F switch is shorting. With the OE module in, it didn't do that, so I didn't know that it was still doing something when it wasn't in turn mode. Meanwhile, while I wait for parts, the module is disconnected!
Anyway, I got the cover off of the steering column without removing the wheel, and checked the connections, and they were all tight. I read the number on the M/F switch on my truck, and looked it up, and found it cheapest at RockAuto. Autozone listed the price at $120.00, and R/A showed four different ones that would work, ranging from $41 to $84! I called and asked if their records showed any bad feedback on the cheapest one, and they said that none had been reported as a warranty issue, or bad customer feedback...............so I ordered the $41.00 M/F switch this morning and it is on the way!
It doesn't seem that many 2007 F150s are having this problem, so possibly, this may help someone in the future. I guess we'll know, when and if it all works out well in the end! I'll let you know how it turns out! Got my fingers crossed too!

Today the new part arrived, and upon close inspection, I found that it is an original FORD part, with the makings removed! I installed the new M/F switch and it seemed to work perfectly...............except..............for a click from the NEW Tridon EP27 electronic flasher that I had replaced! The click only occurred when I hit the brakes, and only if the brakes hadn't been hit for 30 seconds or so! The signal lights all worked perfectly though, but it bothered me that "something" had to be going on that I couldn't identify... I replaced the new Tridon EP27 flasher with the original Ford flasher, and the odd clicking is gone. The only thing that I miss is the loudness of the new Tridon, it is sometimes hard to hear the quieter Ford relay with radio cranked, A/C going, and other road sounds! Oh well, at least the lights all work again, and I don't have any more stray flasher noises!
