remove dings in stainless

Anyone got a idea on how to remove SMALL dings in the stainless hood side trim.I have polised it to a high shine but the dings won't buff out. LOL

I think the only way to do it is with a hammer and dolly working very carefully and deliberately.

Take your time with it.

Is it dents or the little pits you get from debris hitting it?

they make a special mini anvile and hammers especialy for that, I thought i saw it in the eastwood catalouge, but not sure. good luck

Dale i just found it on the Eastwood site under hammers and dollys It a special thin anvil a hammer and a how to fix trim booklet, and i think its $48

If you need to use a hammer, try a small tack hammer. Tap gently on a block of wood rather than steel so you don't thin and stretch the metal. For real small dents, you might try pushing them out with an awl or a carefully rounded screwdriver (from years of misuse). I've seen a guy use one of the screen door tools that looks like a pizza cutter to roll the dent out, also. Just go slow and check your progress frequently.

You need to make up some specialty tools, an aul out of an old broken scew driver and push the dents out while on a block, I also have a teflon piece that looks like a flat blade screw driver that works well. A small rounded hammer (miniature) for bigger ones then take a file to the high spots very carefully and then polish and buff. Very time consuming but they will come out.
