78 f150 starting problems

I'm having trouble getting my 1978 f150 351m started. I replaced the distributor because it was cracked. When it was all timed and running awesome i took it for a test drive. When i got back to the house it just shut off. No sputter or anything just off. Since then i replaced the fuel pump and tried to start it. It turns over but no start. When i turn the key back it sounds like it ignites but it doesn't start. The truck is pretty much original except the distributor and fuel pump. Never had a problem til now ran it everyday for a couple months. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Check to see if you have spark. My guess is the igniton control module.

Is the distributor hold down clamp tight? Check the timing to make sure it hasn't changed.
If you have compression and fuel, the only thing left is properly timed spark.

Checked the ignition control module today. It is good just not sure where the problem is. It doesn't sound like its getting spark. Does the ignition switch have anything to do with it. The starter comes on and there is plenty of fuel but its not firing. The wires and spark plug are brand new last month. Anything else it can be?

It was a broken wire in the bottom of the distributor.

So I got the knew distributor today. I put it in it starts but its really rough. I set the timing but still is missing. Not sure of the symptoms of a 180 out. Would it even start? Also another problem i'm wondering about is what are the symptoms of timing chain jump?

Double check and make sure you have the firing order right, that all the wires are connected to the correct plug.
Distributor rotates COUNTER CLOCKWISE.
Firing order: 1 3 7 2 6 5 4 8
Cylinders are numbered front to back 1-4 passenger side 5-8 drivers side
