Brake Controller Wiring

My 2001 EX is a police package, bought a voyager, hooked up the factory plug under dash fine, but under the hood they are all rubber capped and just sitting there, ran the red to the battery, white to the ground, where would the blue brake wire go from there?? I know where the fuse is but it seems there is a wire in the box there, kinda confused. Thanks.

The police package could change things beyond all recognition, but see if this thread identifies the wires:

Shows the firewall side of the "Customer Access" wiring.

Yea that first pic is exactly what I'm talking about, he was asking where they go from there, unlike him my problem is I know where they are under the dash I don't know where it goes from that dead end, all under the hood.

I don't think there was anything different in the wiring for fleet vehicles except what a police departement would have added/changed after it was delivered to them.

I don't think the customer access wires under the hood are anything related to the brake controller wiring. To the original poster, are you trying to get your brake controller working or are you trying to identify the spare wires under the hood? Your question/statement is not clear.

I think your X may be missing the tow relays if your brake controller is not working.

When I installed a brake controller on my '01 I purchased a pigtail with plugs at each end. Connected one to the controller and the other to under dash plug seen here in Aklim's gallery.

He's pointing to the factory plug.

My original question was the "spare wires under the hood"
thing is that when I ran it to the battery I got power to the brake controller because the instructions showed using the red, white, black, blue wires under the wheel, there was the factory plug for a harness to be used, detail sheet said it has the tow package but who knows, when I get home can upload pics if it'd clarify

There is connector you can buy the pigtail to wire your controller end to and then plug it right in.....you are looking at the customer use wires or rhe open connector thats right there hanging by the kick panel....the correct one is to the right halfway up behind the cubby hole beside the cup holder

Right on njneer!!!!! Here I thought that somebody had cut the factory plug off the truck leaving me with the one tail from the glove box but your right it was behind the cup holder, jason and howler you both were right on as well but I wasn't familiar with the "customer access wires" phrase and never knew those weren't the correct wires, thanks to you guys this is the most resourceful Ford truck site period!
