79 F150 Supercab Front Suspension Questions
Hey all. I have a 79 F150 supercab. I want to lift this truck with new springs, but the front suspension is leaf springs (unlike normal cab). My questions are this:
1. Is the spring spacing and size the same as F250?
2. Will a front Dana 60 off a compirable year F250 or 350 fit this spring spacing (as the left leaf spring actually sits on a perch that is part of the pumpkin now on the dana 44).
3. Will F250 lift kits (as far as the springs are concerned) fit the F150 Supercab?
4. Does anyone make a 6" (or close) lift kit for the F150 Supercab?.
Any help would be gratefully appreciated.
Thanks, -Dan

The f150 s/c 4wds frames are the same as the f250's as faras the bolt on's but the frame is actually 'taller' than the std cab 4wd p/u's, they refer to the 150 4wd s/c as a Y200 suspension, a 5 lug/1/2 ton/single disc brake caliper f/e w/a 3/4 ton leaf spring suspension ...
?1.. yes
?2..yes, but you may have a driveshaft length issue which is caused by the larger d60 housing, but that issue may go away w/ the lift...just check for enough spline engagement, also the u-joint may be different...you also could just swap out the outers on the hd44 to the 8 lug set up from a 250..just an option
?3..I believe so
I added 4" of lift to my 79 s/c but just adding extra front leafs to my existing frt. leafs and then did the same to the rear spring pack
