Thinking of getting MBRP exhaust, but wondering about noise when towing
I am thinking about getting a cat back setup on my truck, 2004 SCREW 5.4l 101XXX miles, I drie 65 miles roundtrip to work and have heard of the low in cab noise of the MBRP single out kits. My question is, who has an exhaust and tows with the overdrive off? How is the noise? My wife and I take our camper of a few ling trips a year, and I really dont want to listen to a loud exhaust for 10 hours when I am running down the hwy at 3000 rpm. Any help would be appreciated, I would really like to hear fro people running the MBRP setup, should I leave it stock? or how is the noise level.
Thanks in advance

i have the single 3 1/2" mbrp system and love it. you will be very happy with it. it has a nice deep and mellow tone, not too overpowering. also as long as the pipe doesnt exit straight back , the in cab noise will be minimal when towing.i have had the exhaust for 3 years,no rust, no complaints, and when i jump on the throttle it still makes me smile.

Not apples to apples, but I have an MBRP 3 1/2" SI/DO set up exiting at 45's behind the rear tires. As long as it stays below 2000 rpm, it sounds great. Deep note and really not all that noticeable in the cab. Above that rpm, it still sounds great, but it is fairly loud. I pull about 4-5K lbs about 500 miles one way 5 or 6 times a winter, and after long uphill stretches on the interstate, it does get a little annoying.
However, in that case, I just crank up the Eric Church and let the 5.4L sing.
