Gibson Tri-Y vs Doug Thorley Tri-y????

Im looking at getting a set of tri-y headers. As I have been doing alot of research. I have almost everything done so far as "Project M.P.G." except for headers obviously and Im ordering my AFPR and gauge next week. Then maybe work on the bbk 61mm TB after headers. I have been reading that the tri-y headers offer more low end tq then the long tube ones.

Im going to take my air pump off after I go through emissions. But my question which is better? Gibson or Doug Thorley? Or is there another company that makes a set of Tri-y headers.

I was planing on running headers then 4" random tech high flow cat then 4" bullit muffler then 4" pipe out to behind the rear wheel. Im keeping it single cuz I have the dual gas tank and I have most of the 4" pipe from a stock dodge diesel

Thanks fellow 460 owners for all your help and input.

Well noone has chimed in to say which is better.

But I have been doing alot of searching for prices:
Best price so far on gibson was 628 then I just found a set new for 528
The thing with gibson they are only nickel chrome plated.

Doug's are nickel chrome or ceramic. I would rather have ceramic but I can always just heat wrap them before install.
The prices so far on the doug's match the high price of gibson 736 but thats CC.

Im going to keep doing more searching and Ill update when I have more info.

Thanks Clay

Thorley's been doing the Tri-Y thing for as long as I can remember. I want a set for my 460 eventually too and I am planning to go with the Thorley's in order to get the ceramic coating.

Can't really comment on the headers except to say that I've only heard of Doug Thorley's Tri-Y, so that's probably worth something.

But I will say, 4" is probably going to be too big of exhaust for an otherwise stock motor. Most people recommend 3" if you're running single exhaust.

I'm going with a 3 1/2" single to replace my 3". Banks kits use 3 1/2" and they do more testing than anyone else so I'm following that lead.
