tire size is 15 X 15 X 35. Bought 15 X 14 inch ford wheels today. I was able to do more measuring having the wheel tire dimensions. Had already figured I would have to move front bumper out a couple inches. Probably going to require a 3" body lift as well to clear lower rear of front fenders. Radius arm seems clear so far.

6" lift should fit 35s just fine, obviously a body lift is a cheap and easy way to add a few inches i guess it depends on what exactly your son will be doing with this truck. I am guessing you will need at least 4.56 gears to get those big ole things turning and that is a must. If your son plans on driving this on the road at all i would get rid of the boggers and rims and go get a good set of mud terrains.
Thats roughly 56-60 inchs of rubber touching the ground vs half of that for factory tires not to mention boggers are not exactly light tires so the added weight and extra grip is going to cause alot of failure. The TTB isnt as bad as people say it is but 35x15x15 boggers is asking alot out of that and the ole 8.8" in the rear. Those boggers weigh about anywhere from 75-90 pounds each plus you throw some mud in the tread and there is about 100 plus pounds of rubber/mud/rocks or whatever you may going over it has to turn. If he absolute has to have boggers i would pick up some 33s instead of those 35s which should weigh about 25-35 pounds less each. Depending on what engine, even with the redone gears is going to be working, so some upgrades on the engine defiantly will help out. Heres a link to show you the weight of some of those boggers Interco tires. weights of popular sizes
