so, i'm trying to sell my dentside....
and I'm not getting any bites!!
before you cry, I got my eye on a project dent and want to free up cash to make a good offer.
79 f100 custom short bed, inline 6, rebuilt C4. few minor projects to finish up.
is it just the south or are these things difficult to sell? there are a few around me that are in worse shape and except for 2 in nashville, most are longbeds.
i would post up my craiglist ad but i'm at work, will add later.

This is just my opinion, but I think $2700 is a little steep; in my area at least. If you're not in a hurry to sell it, then leave it where you like - but I think you would get more offers if you listed it for $2200 or best offer. Gas is only getting more expensive and I don't think these things are selling as quickly as they used to.
All that aside, great looking truck; I think I've mentioned to you before that I have that exact same truck, except with a C6 transmission and a long bed. The baby blue color really stood out to me when I bought it.

haha, kidding/
opinions are what i was looking for. previous owner was listing for 2000 when i traded for it. said he had some other people interested but he wanted something good on gas. figured "previous" price plus rebuilt trans thrown in would be a good place to start.
of course, i've got less than that in it
buddy is looking overnon running 79 f250 to rob axles, i might get few parts off that to finish it up more.

personally if i was looking for a 2wd driver i would call that the $800-$1200 range....and thats pushing it.
reasons why, "body is a 20 footer but has mostly surface rust, interior needs new carpet or rubber mat, door panel is bad, a/c isnt working, radio is uninstalled" to me im not spending $2700 on something i have to work on.... hell i bought my harley for $2000 and havent had to do anything to it other than basic stuff
you wanted opinions, im just throwing them out there not trying to burn you at all.

i wish i had that problem with my 79 bronco i am thinking of putting a sign in the window
NOT FOR SALE as i have had about 7 or 8 offers in the last 2 months that its being on the road due to the extremaly good solid rust free condition [ex wash state truck that was under coated at one time ] and its only started to have restoration will be intresting when its done

you rarely get paid for fixing things
the only trucks selling in y area are the "work trucks"
either Cheep beater trucks, or heavy duty work trucks
BTW,
I picked up my 77 F250 SuperCab 460/4bbl c6 for $650
listed it a week later on Craigslist for $2500, had a couple (soft) $2K offers
if you're not even getting "tire kickers", then your price is probably too high.
good luck

I sold my green F-150 Explorer on Nashville craigslist, I didn't get much action from Jackson. It brought $1300 and it was a long bed. Short beds are hard to find around here. I would stick with the price, list it on several different craigslist cities and repost every couple of days. That's what usually works for me. I've sold everything I've ever listed on craigslist, some stuff just takes longer than others. I wish I had something to trade for your truck, but I don't need another project right now.
