I've seen some arguments on here about the filter not being a donaldson filter.

They are all made by donaldson.

Thought I'd be a smart *** and share.

That puts that argument 6 feet under.

That's what my Donaldson filters look like too.

There was some people on here saying that clay or somebody else, or the certian filters were made by like 4 different companies, if forgot what the argument was.

Don't care, but took the pictures 2 months ago for the purpose of showing otherwise.

The argument is that the Donaldson is hydrophobic while the 6637 is not. I'd like to see proof that the filter coming out of the Donaldson box is hydrophobic and the Wix or Napa 6637 is not hydrophobic. I've only seen people say it on the interweb, never seen an actual test thrown out there.

I will keep ordering my filters from fleetfilter.com until I see otherwise, which means I will keep getting Wix/Napa filters.

It may be and from the pictures sure looks to be made by Donaldson.

However keep in mind that it is not a Donaldson power core g2 filter like the type used on the 6.0 and off road heavy equipment in heavy dust environments

As far as I know ( and can certainly be wrong ) the only company who currently offers aftermarket retail Donaldson power core g2 filters is volant

Volant

Their website kinda sucks but if you call them they are very helpful.
I run these on my Baja 1000 race cars.

The motorcraft. Aes kit is a Donaldson power core filter retrofit for the 7.3

Oh. I did not get that from your post. So the box is obviously for the Donaldson filter, and the pic with just the filter is the Napa 6637?

Agreed. I've never seen the specifications or any type of head-to-head testing. I get my filters from Dale & Tymar as they are about as cheap as anywhere. I think I paid $22.50 the last time I ordered.

Heck, I think I figured it out! Posting multiple times in the same thread really adds to the post count. Heck I might hit 1000 if I keep this up!

No, that's the box the filter came in.

I forgot to take pictures of my napa filter.
Its the SAME filter. The napa box when I got my first filter did not say donaldson on it though.

Had the same P/N on it however.

Gotcha. A pic of both filters side-by-side probably would have made the similarities more clear, but no biggie.
