I am eyeballin a 53 f100 and at a distance. I am planning on getting close to it and would like to know where the data plate is and where else the numbers may be. Also in this year are the data plate rivets indinted on the top like other years / vehicles. Thxs Bill

 

Bill My data plate was on the inside of the glovebox door and the rivits were not indented. The vin # is also stamped on the frame rail on the passenger side close to the front cross member. These are sometimes hard to find and you need a wirebrush to remove 58 years of dirt and rust just to see them.

And the vin on the frame ISN'T always in the same spot. I didn't find mine until I sand blasted. It was on the front cross member, not the frame side rail....

My spec plate was on the glove box door, with screws.
