fyi recall info

DETROIT (AP) - Ford Motor Co. is recalling more than 20,000 pickup trucks and SUVs because a defective switch can cause the turn signal, tail lights and brake lights to fail.
The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration said Wednesday on its website that the recall affects certain 2004 through 2011 Ranger pickups, 2002 through 2005 Excursion SUVs, and 2002 through 2007 F-250, 350, 450 and 550 trucks.
About 20,450 trucks in the U.S. are affected, plus Ford is recalling more than 6,000 of the switches that were sent to dealers as replacement parts.
Ford says it knows of no accidents or injuries caused by the problem.
The company will notify owners and dealers will replace the switches free of charge.

recall

what about the Ford F-250 7.3 supercab 4X4? and why haven't they taken responsibility for the bad electronics.. mine went bad 2 weeks after I bought the truck.. windows won't roll down or up half the time, back up alarm won't stay on at all, overdrive light stays on all the time, gas gauge shows empty now and then, all sorts of weird electronic problems, you never know what to expect when you start the truck.. but, THEY say they have no problems.. seems like there are a lot of FORDS with these problems that THEY don't want to address.. my neighbors was so bad, he gave it back to them less than a month after buying it, made them take it back!

Thanks for the update, I'm just a little confused! I thought the recall was for F250s but your cut & paste shows it's for E250s. Is the recall for the trucks or for the Econolines? Or both?

Anybody get notified yet?

I'm thinking of calling my local Ford dealer and asking, but I've
been so busy I had forgotten about this....

According to FMC, 11C18 is conditional and only applies
to certain Ex (at least for my '05 MY). IF my Ex was having
problems now (or perhaps had the multi-function switch
previously replaced) I would have been included in the recall.
