84 to 93 swap / pictures

New to the FTEF and have a project I am deep into. Do to someone elses neglect I have aquired an 84 F350 4x4 Dump. The 460 was seized and the truck vanalized but all and all I wanted was the base to build. In the process I have aquired a 92 frontend rustfree and a 93 XLT cab. Also picked up a 86 460 with 20k and radiator. I picked this forum due to the great info I was able to get from it and hope to find out more as I get into this project. One thing I have not been able to find is info about wiring up 92-96 dash into an older chassis or how to hook up the elec speedo to an older rear in my case a Dana. Pics to follow

If you are going to wire in the later dash, I would get the complete harness from the later vehicle, including the gas tanks. The sending units in the dash work differently after 1986, so the later dash is not compatible with the early fuel tanks.

I have never done it, but some people put the older dash into the later cabs also.

And also I don't know if you have checked this out, but look at the rear setup of your dump truck. You probably have a chassis/cab truck, which has a different width rearend, different width rear frame, and different width rear springs compared to a pickup. Just in case you get any ideas about bolting on a pickup bed onto it.

Hmmm got the whole harness, didn't think about the tanks, the parts trucks did have twin tanks so I could use one, great idea. It's staying a 4x4 Dump and will get used for plowing and hauling.
When I purchased her all she needed was a windshield and headlight than someone jealous got to it, I always had it in my mind of a swap so getting it for FREE really worked.

Well, I'm almost positive it is, just figured I'd ask. I have one, just don't see too many others...

I should of smiled for a better pic, Yes this is our 165lb male Akita Bear. He is one of 3 of our pack and all I can say is they are great dogs. I'll get a better pic up and to post.

Yesterday would have been a great picture, me covered in crap after powerwashing that leaky Ford. It's clean now, need to weld up the cab mount and paint the frame.

Looks like you are making some good progress! Great looking dog and great looking truck.

Here's my child (no quite bear sized though)

She's about 2 1/2 weighs about 55lbs. She is full blooded but just quit growing at about 7-8 months for some reason

Ordered my clutch kit today and figure I'm going to undercoat the frame tomorrow.
