transmission coolant lines

I'm in the midst of changing my rear main seal. When removing one of the tranny coolant lines at the transmission; the line caught on the compression nut (yes I was loosening the right nut) and the line twisted and eventually broke right at the fitting. The line is twisted about 2 to 3 inches from the fitting. I'm guessing I need to make a patch line?
I went to the auto parts store (pep boys) and all they had was rubber lines! I looked at brake lines that come with the fittings and they seem more than adequate. They seemed better than the tranny lines. Can I use one of these brake lines? What size do I need? I have a flaring tool, and I can obtain a double ended compression nut to fit the ends together. Any advice please.
Thank You in Advance!

you can use the steel brake line , the size you need will have to match what you have , 3/8" i think , also i have used rubber line to splice them , make sure it is compatible with oil
