Detents in heater box flap

Detents in heater box flap
My heater box adjuster for the defroster/floor flap setting, just swings without clicking into any of the detent stops. It looks like something is missing attached to the door flap. I couldn't even begin to guess what its supposed to look like. Does anyone have an idea on what I'm talking about let alone have one that I could buy?

Which heater does the truck have, deluxe or economy?
If deluxe, there will be two heater cables attached to a bracket, mounted below the dash to the right of the steering column.
One cable opens the damper door, allows fresh air to enter the plenum chamber (heater box).
The other cable opens/closes the heater water valve that is spliced into the inlet to heater core heater hose.
