4" and 6" Skyjacker differences

I know I know its 2". I was wondering if anyone knew before I decide to buy what the difference is. For the 67-77 Highboys they offer a 4". The later 78/79 style a 6" can be bought. I am talking about the fronts only. Which will be higher a highboy with a 4" lift or the 78/79 with a 6"

My reason for asking is I'm in the middle of crossover steering and having to many issues to put in this post with my old springs.

The 4" kit should give me the lift I have now just with less spring ply and more arch is what I'm after....I hope

My 79 f350 is not a highboy and the 4" skyjacker front springs lifted the front of my truck 6". I already had the rear lifted 4" and after getting the 4" skyjacker front springs I had to lift the rear another 2".

Do you think you could post a pic of your truck? I'd like to see how it compares to what I have now. I just don't want it any lower than I have it now.

Im in the same process down here in Darlington maryland.I went with the 4"skyjackers for my 1975 HB.Now im waiting for shackle bushings to arrive.I will then put in rear springs.Proceed to front axle swap D60,and springs same time.At last 4 bolt PS,and then cross over.Wish I was done to be able to shoot pics to you.I think I saw your truck on other post .You have a real nice truck dave

I have everything done on the swap but the stupid steering. The D60 is freshened up and in. The 78/79 ps swap is done. I have all the brakes hooked up and I get to this point where the crossover won't clear the spring pack because it's too thick. I guess that's my fault for not using the right springs in the first place.

From the top of the axle tube to the bottom of the frame I have exactly 12"
The tires on my truck are 32" tall.

Thanks for the pic. I just went and measured the top of the tube to the bottom of the frame. I have 11" exactly both sides. I wouldn't be unhappy if it was just slightly higher.

The 6 inch kit for the 77.5-79 is the same as the 4 inch kit for the highboy. The 77.5-79 just sit 2 inches lower

Are you looking to lift it just enough to clear the crossover steering? I would think the 4" will give you the lift you need to clear everything what springs are you using now? Oh and do you have any pics of your power steering swap ill be doin mine shortly after my engine is in and I finish the rear suspension doing a SD lift

Yea I need the springs to give me the amount of lift I have now. I'm using the stock 6 ply pack plus 3 rear 3" wide leafs on each side to make it sit the way it does. Adding the extra leafs made the pack too thick and spaced the axle down too far. The steering arm barely clears on the drivers side and there is room to hook up the drag link on the pitman arm side.

I do have some pics but I changed everything when doing this. I added the steering shaft and tilt column from the 79
