bypass rad atf cooling?

Can I bypass the internal rad atf cooling and just run the factory aux cooler? I have a internal leak in the rad. I won't tow much over 3k, van is an 88' 1ton 460 club wagon. thanks

The factory external cooler is not that great.

You should increase the cooler size.
