Smitty's Super S oils

Does anyone use this brand of oil? I got the synthetic ATF and 75W90.

ATF claims to be universal. 75W90 already has friction modifiers.

I tried searching forum and google.

Thanks,
Darrell

What do you plan on using them in?

If you're planning on using the ATF in a Torqueshift, DON'T. You need Mercon SP or LV. I've also heard that Valvoline MaxLife is SP rated, but I wouldn't even bet on that.

If you're planning on using the 75W90 in the rear differential, and you have a F-250, or an F-350 SRW, DON'T. Those are a Sterling/Visteon 10.5 differential that requires 75W-140 synthetic.

The 75W90 already has friction modifiers in it for the rear axle.

The ATF will work find in a 4R100, since the 4r100 will work with about any Mercon V compatible oil. As will the gear oil be fine in the front differential.

You are taking a risk with your rear differential by using far too light of an oil. It calls for 75W-140 synthetic. But, it's your truck, you get to fix it if it breaks.

75W140? I'm sure the book I got (Haynes) said they were both 75W90.
I haven't changed it yet so no foul.
