93, 4x4, Wont shift into OD. I was told to ckeck the TV cable 1st. then a stuck 3-4 shift valve. If the 3-4 valve is next to check - Do I have to remove the valve body? What do I look for? How many check *****, springs, pins, are going to drop down one me? Any advise & a picture will be very apreciated.

 

does the OD light go on and the tranny doesn't shift into OD or does the OD light not go on at all?

 

I haven't seen the light.

Here is how to adjust the TV cable.
Could also be a sticking governor but check the cable adjustment first.

 

If it is an AOD, than there will be no light as it is mechanical. If it has a button on the shifter, it is and AODE or and E4OD, and it is electronic.
