Engine Compartment Help

1992 Ford Nite. Recently, mice have chewed some stuff under the hood, including some sort of intake hose. I do not know the name of it, but it is behind the battery and next to the a/c. Can some one tell me what the canaster with a hose coming out the side is? Please post pictures if you can.

Can you post a picture? It sounds like your talking about the hose for the air pump.

I cant post pictures due to my free membership, but the canister hose does go into the engine
