Hope I never have to do that. Are you just welding in new bed rails and undercoating?

Phil,if you haven't done the in-tank mod,now is THE TIME TO DO IT,trust me,with the bed off and not have to drop the tank, you can get the stuff locally probably, but strictly diesel has a nice kit,it's the one I used..Driven Diesel 7.3L Fuel Tank / Pre-Pump Kit

Practice on the old pieces before you start on the permanent stuff.
Adjust your wire feed speed and heat until you get the right combination. zig-zag works for me. circles for the thicker stuff.

Use gas if you can. the flux core wire sucks IMHO.

Not that hard & with the bed off you can just pop the top & pull the assembly without draining the tank, I think- Good luck w/ the welding

Yeah, what Bill said, even with a full tank,as long as it's sitting level, once you get in it's very simple,I didn't have any trouble, and sometimes that's saying alot..lol..Here's my thread on mine,I was having top end issues, and when you see the screens that came out of mine you'll know why,but it definitely fixed my problem.https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...te-w-pics.html
