spout in--rough idle, miss, ping. spout out--smooth

I beg to differ with that comment. I know how to use my oscilloscope and tweak square waves and troubleshoot thermistors, varistors, and potentiometers if I need to. Can find a faulty zener diode, triac or SCR if I have to. But that FACT remains that if I don't NEED to, why drag all that crap out? What comes with age (moreover with experience) is the ability to recognize just how much absolutely HAS to be done to get the job done in the most efficient manner. Because honestly, who wouldn't rather be DRIVING their truck than fixing it?

Ok, just back off. You want to jump in here and start picking arguments, this CAN be fixed. I rescinded my statements and if thats not good enough find yourself another forum. Take a look at the post counts of the guys you are sitting here arguing with Mr. 17 posts. We've been here and for the most part we all get along without tossing crap in each other's faces but if you want to play those games, I'm sure Rich or someone further up the food chain will be happy to deal with this for us. Stick to the topic YOU began BTW.

Believe it or not grey, im one of the guys that would rather be fixing it.. some of us enjoy the troubleshooting experience so much that it's what keeps us going.
And give us inexperienced people a break, we KNOW we don't have everyone else's experience which is what the gadgets do, help us make up for the inexperience.

Cool, I'll be looking at getting one.
I think I'm going to sell my 1970 C-20 BBC and get a Ford. Not a Chevy hater or anything, but I really don't have time to finish that involved project, and I need a comfortable "finished" truck to tow the boat, etc. The wife does not like the Chevy as is and it would take at least a year to finish it right ...
A nice used 1992~94 F-150 with a shell will fill the bill and that will pair with the '88 Big Bronco already in the driveway
This tool will come in handy on both
