My newest baby 78 Scab

I'm curious to know specs, how much does the spring help with loading? I'm looking at putting a cabover camper on my '79 F250 long bed and cringing at the weights of the 8.5 footers... now that I've seen in side-by-side photo of stock vs super duty I wonder if upgrading the springs would help? Also curious to know the investment both financial and labor?
Thanks!

These are for the front, so I don't know about your situation. They are def stronger than stock.
Cost wise, I think it was $257/shipped for the pair from JCwhitney. I think they were the 4-6" lift version. side by side they measure 6.5" taller than stock, but with weight they should drop down some. Still gonna be at least 6" over stock. Not sure what route I'm going with the rear yet. I want to wait till I get these on and see where it sits so I can decide if I want full rear spring lift or spring/block combo.

Saturday:
Sunday:
Still need intake mani gasket, clutch and exh mani/headers and then the engine is done.
***BONUS*** while cleaning the engine I found "030" stamped where the oil pan gasket goes. I then checked every sparkplug hole and finally found one that had 030 on a piston. This engine was supposed to have 70,000 miles on a rebuild when I got it. It was in one of the parts trucks I bought. When I pulled it apart it looked brand new, so I freshened up some gaskets and got it back together. Now that I know it's been bored, I wonder if it's been cam'd as well.

What would you like to know? 460 will bolt right up to a 351/400 bell. For a flywheel you either need to get the L&L one like I have which then needs their clutch or get one from a 360/390. Clutch has to be a diaphragm style and you have to get the right pilot bearing to let the trans shaft sit as far in the crank as possible OR get a 1/2" spacer between the trans/block. Motor mounts I used are from WCB, but there are cheaper ones out there like L&L.
Other than that, I don't really know what else to tell you. I can't bolt mine up till I can get the $300 L&L clutch for my flywheel, so I'm on hold for a few weeks.
