It appears it is pretty widespread and since I will be in the market for a new truck soon I need more information. I have read everything I can find on this subject and have learned a lot. What I can't find out is if this problem is exclusive only to the long bed trucks or do the short beds have this problem as well.
It would be greatly appreciated if someone could answer this question for me.
Thanks in advance for taking time to reply.

Sounds like both the 145" and the 157" wheel base trucks have this issue. Mine is the 157" wheel base (2011 Super Crew Ecoboost w/6.5' bed &3.55LS) and I have a shudder from a dead stop with light to moderate acceleration in 1st gear. I do not feel the shudder in 2nd gear or any other gear for that matter. The shudder is mostly felt at 5 MPH. I haven't mentioned mine to the dealer because there does not seem to be a cure for it yet.
There has been mention of carrier bearing, shim of the pinion angle, greasing the yoke on the two piece drive shaft, etc. as trial and error resolutions, but none seem to be an absolute cure. So I am going to wait to take mine in.

It happens when not loaded as well but MUCH less - almost don't notice it.
