Vehicle Speed Sensor and Rear ABS Sensor the same?

From searching on this forum it appears that the rear speed sensor for the ABS and the VSS are on the rear axle. I have both a VSS code, intermittent blinking O/D light, and a C1229 and C1230 code. Did Ford integrate the ABS sensor with the VSS or are there 2 seperate sensors in the rear axle? Thanks

There is one sensor on the rear axle. The VSS. It serves both the ABS system, the instrument cluster and the transmission.
