Engine Swap

I have a 1994 explorer. I just picked up a 1996 for the rear axle to put in the 94. I wanted to know if the engine from the 96 will work in my 94. the 96 has 50k on it but the body is rotted or i would just fix that

The 94 is a first gen OBDI, the 96 is second gen OBDII.

If you are going to do a swap either you will have to strip the engines or swap the CPM and harness.... are these engines both OHV (X engines)... Philip

The 94 will be an X engine (OHV) the 96 could be either OHV or OHC..... Philip
