exhaust question

I want to remove my cat on my 93 F-350, 5.8. When the pipes come down from the manifolds the come together at a rectangular plate, then it's rectangular to the cat.....does anyone make an adapter to remove the cat that mounts to the rectangular plate with just a single round piece......or do I have to have one made

Could always just take the cat off and beat it out put it back on. Just an option. Mayby something temporary till you can get one made or what not.

You could gut the cat and reinstall, or cut the rectangular flange off and fabricate a y-pipe to connect back into the exhaust system... or cut the flange off and have true duals ran to the back.

I redid my buddies entire exhaust on his 95 250, I took a long pipe and bashed out the insides of the cat. As for any inspections, I live in Pa, it passes the visual and it also still passes emissions.

On my 97 250, old body style, I ran long tube headers, and had to goto a buddies shop and bend a piece for the drivers side. If I have to have any tranny work, it has to come off. No biggie, at least in my mind. Then got two small high flow cats and then mufflers. I have turn downs on them and they stop a little bit before the rear. It was all run in 2 1/2 exhaust pipe. It does get a little tight between tranny and tranny cradle, but it never touches either one. Before the cats, I just drilled out two 2" holes and drilled out a small section of 2" and made an "H" pipe section. I am very happy with it all.

You can cut the flange off and use 2.25" tube for a true dual exhaust. Both pipes are already on the pass side so just dump them in front of the rear tire. Simple and easy. The tank is not an issue.

This is what my son and I did on his truck: https://www.ford-trucks.com/forums/1...rue-duals.html
