Inside handles-which way should they point?
I never thought of jotting that down when tearing down the doors.I know this was mentioned in past posts,I searched and searched buy came up empty.
I figured I could get a hint by looking at a 4 door car with roll up windows-no 2 were the same.
Off topic....the door rebuild is going well. There was a bit of body work on the lower front corners, migged and heat tweeked the outside handle shafts so as they'll look perky and straight.
On the advice from posters here I got the anti-rattle/division bar kit and other weatherstrip stuff from CarTruck in Orange California. Thanks All!
The anti-rattle window sill has the handle indent preformed.
The glass is gray and all locally cut, fast, perfect fit, and no frieght.
Cheers!

We've had this discussion before (I think it was during that thread where the guy had his keys locked up in a truck). But my door handles on both of my trucks function differently. Locked is completely horizontal pointing toward the back of the truck (and it's a snug fit where the handle doesn't drop back down due to gravity). Unlocked is between that position and straight down. And I have to push my handles straight down toward vertical to get the doors to open. I'd like to see a show of hands. How do your guys handles work?

Clocking the Handles...
I don't remember where I found this info...
...but I must have thought it was somewhat credible at the time 'cause I
saved it to my computer......
"I read in some Ford literature that the door handle should be on a
45-degree angle in relation to the window crank.
This allows one to open the door with out banging his knuckles on the
window crank.
So on the passenger door the door handle should be pointing halfway
between the 9 and the 12.
On the driver's door the handle should be pointing between the 12 and
the 3.
On all the old Ford dealer brochures and pamphlets I have this is how
the handles are arranged."
Now I gonna go thru the million pictures we have from truck & car shows
to see how others have them set-up......
Interesting...I wish I could remember WHERE I found this info. at......
