New truck on the way!
Well, I pulled the trigger.....
Currently driving an 08 F250 CC 6.4L with 125k on the clock. It's been a good truck until recently, when I had a DPF failure AND a radiator go.....and an upper hose...and a lower hose....and an EGR feed line. I'm out $4-Grand over the last 3 months, which hurts pretty bad, and I'm re-thinking my needs for a diesel. The power is nice but the repair bills post-warranty are tough.
At this point, it's a matter of either taking an existing '11 that is on the lot somewhere, and taking advantage of the $750 voucher and $2500 cash back from Ford.....or ordering a '12, taking delivery in late Sept or early Oct, and likely losing 1/2 those rebate dollars.
So I pulled the trigger on an '11 F250 CC, 6.5', 4WD Lariat with the 6.2L. It's got the 3.73 electronic locker (wasn't happy, wanted a 4.30, but there are NONE within 5 states of me, (apparently the dealers don't like to stock them because of the perception that the fuel mileage is atrocious)......Lariat Interior Package (what a deal, for $995 comes with remote start, heated/ac seats, backup camera, memory seat/pedals/mirrors), Captains Chairs (wanted this so it had the rear seat a/c vents in the console, which my 2008 does not have), Snow Plow Prep (nice), LT tires, and it's White Platinum Metallic Tri-Coat, which is supposed to be a pretty sweet color. Got an X-Plan from a friend, with the rebates, and saved about $6500 off sticker. Not bad. Truck is en route from Indiana to my dealership in southern Michigan right now.......they're going to deliver it to me (300 miles each way) later this week.
I wanted upfitter switches, which can be added afterwards, and I wanted a tailgate step as I climb in and out of the bed all day.......but with a topper on the truck, I'm not sure how useful it would have been.
Was going to get an XLT.....then I started looking at what the $3Grand difference buys stepping into a Lariat. Totally worth the extra $$.....
Should be a real nice truck. I will post pics when I get it

I have the EXACT same truck to a T. You will love it. Everyone who sees it/drives it loves it. Plenty of power, really comfortable on long hauls. Couple guys who saw it this past week with older models were drooling on the floor.
Good luck with it. Although you won't need it. Great platform, much simpler than your previous model. I also had an 08 F350 6.4 CC black. Haven't looked back once.

For me, I drive 65-70mph on the highway unloaded, and have no problem at all getting 17mpg. City, your talking something like 12mpg or so. I have a heavy foot. Constantly sticking the thing all over the place. It sounds so sweet at like 5500 rpm's.
This past week, I drove 50/50 highway/city on vacation. I pressed the thing Sunday night when I got home and it said 13.8. Bunch of highway pulls and tons of back road fun.
Not bad for what it is. I'm looking at the 93 Performance Tune only because I don't drive that much...

That's great news!~
My 6.4 mileage sucked when it was stock......the DPF failed in March, and I did a DOC/DPF delete w/ H&S tuner as it was cheaper than replacing the DPF. The mileage is significantly better, but with 1200+ ft/lb of torque on tap, I'm always into the throttle and mileage suffers.
The 6.2 should be fun
