2004 Explorer Limited Question

My passenger frt door window will go down but not up. I replaced the switch, still the same, I got a used main control panel for the drivers frt door, still the same, down but not up. I can unplug the pass side switch and manually get the window up with a battery charger and some pic tools. A litttle secret we learn as bodymen. So if the regulator works by using the battery charger, where do I look next to solve this problem, I dont want to spend the 140 bucks on a new main control for the drivers door if its not the problem. Any tips on where to look or what to check is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Ed

Sounds like you're experiencing the rather common issue of broken wires, often between the door and the cabin.

If you need a wiring diagram for the power windows, send me a Private Message with the request and an e-mail address for you, I'll send you a PDF wiring diagram. The power and ground for the passenger window switch are sourced through the master window switch, so the broken wire could be on the driver's or the passenger side.
